The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table ranks Britain’s mid-market growth private companies with the biggest sales. Sigma have been listed at 132nd ranking in the list and highly commended for its profit growth figures for 2014.
The Top Track 250 is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each October, with a national awards dinner in London and follow-up regional dinners.
David Maxwell from Grant Thornton was this year’s speaker at the presentation dinner and spoke about the robust performance of UK companies in the face of stiff competition from Europe and the developing world.
A typical Top Track 250 company will have sales ranging between £140m and £650m. It will have a staffing quota of between 100 and 5,000 staff and will be owned and run by established families and entrepreneurs, and around 30% by private equity firms. Sigma’s MD Dr Bharat Shah was proud to receive yet another award from the Fast Track stable of business excellence. Commenting on receiving the award, he said that ‘Sigma’s consistent profit growth results has been born out of a firm business structure and the dedicated family work ethos’.
